Trump’s presidency could radically change colleges’ response to sexual assault

Article here. Excerpt:

'A radically different legal landscape for campus sexual assaults likely awaits colleges and their students after the winter holidays.

The outgoing Obama administration devoted considerable resources to raising awareness about campus sexual assaults and forcing compliance with Department of Education guidelines by opening up more than 200 investigations of schools for possible violations of Title IX – the federal law that prohibits discrimination in education on the basis of gender – over the schools’ handling of campus sexual assaults.

But the incoming Trump administration is likely to rein in what many see as overly aggressive enforcement actions that have produced unfair results for accused students.'

... O entrenched collegiate libbies. Wait til he finds the bathroom off the Oval Office first.

I am guessing DJT will have a fair number of high-priority items to address in the first year he is in office. Remember it took B.O. what, 3 years to even start on Obamacare? Not that it was a success or anything but it was a key plank on which he campaigned and still, it took years for him to get to it. DJT has to the best of my knowledge not even discussed the current state of due process horribleness on college campus much less anything having to do with colleges any time during his campaign. Frankly I doubt this'll be much of a priority to DJT any time real soon, unless his DOE appointee is a firebrand *and* agrees that the Dear Colleague letter, etc., must go.

In short, count no chickens before they hatch.

I'm not really sure which way Trump will go on sexual assault cases. I hear he wants to get rid of Dept of Education. If i understand correctly, this would get rid of Title 9, and let the states decide. I hope that happens

On the other hand, I could see him getting extra tough on sexual assault to the point that it becomes even more biased against men.
