U.S. cracks down on female teachers who sexually abuse students

Article here. Excerpt:

'A "Saturday Night Live" skit about a male student having sex with his female high school teacher painted the relationship as every teen boy's dream, but drew a firestorm of criticism on social media.

The reaction to the comedy sketch reflected a growing view among law enforcement and victims' advocacy groups that it is no laughing matter when a woman educator preys on her male students.

In U.S. schools last year, almost 800 school employees were prosecuted for sexual assault, nearly a third of them women. The proportion of women facing charges seems to be higher than in years past, when female teachers often got a pass, said Terry Abbott, a former chief of staff at the U.S. Department of Education, who tracked the cases.

This year's numbers are already slightly ahead of last year with 26 cases of female school employees accused of inappropriate relationships with male students in January compared to 19 cases the previous January.

Female educators who sexually abuse their students are facing tougher prosecution in part because there are more women police officers. There is also a greater awareness among prosecutors, judges and the general public that students who are victimized by an authority figure, regardless of gender, experience trauma with life-long consequences.'

the cases of female teachers victimizing male students, always reminded me of some of the excuses that were once used in the case of when women were raped.

one of the excuses was; "well the way she was dressed, she was asking for it."

thankfully we have pretty much moved beyond that attitude as a society.
...or have we?

because, now instead of; "well the way she was dressed, she was asking for it."
we have in place of it; "well, it's every young boy's dream , to have sex with his teacher."

...i fail to see the "logic" in either case.

The big problem boys face is that the adult teacher can keep the child if she gets pregnant. And he will be forced to pay child support when he's 18. Hardly fair.

On the other hand, schoolgirls do get crushes on their teachers. But if she gets pregnant, she can abort the child or place it for adoption. So she can control the consequences.

In addition, sexual relationships completely destroy the trust and authority of the teacher. They also can have emotional consequences that affect a man for all of his life--even if he enjoyed the sex. I'd prefer all teachers to keep their hands off the students. Being a teacher is not a license to have sex with your students, even the male students.

And I wish we could figure out in the 21st century whether women want to have sex or not. On the one hand, women have "slut walks." On the other, any "unwanted" sexual attention seems to drive them bonkers. They're "empowered" sexual beings one moment and delicate flowers the next.

do women want to have sex?
yes and no.

i hope that clears it up for you. *giggle*

no, but seriously. despite what the mainstream media tells us, women (on average) just do NOT have the same sexdrive as men do. that's a scientific fact. (sorry, ladies).
yes, at times we do want to have sex, at other times we don't. to us, "sex" is more about what comes before and after the actual biological act of sex.
a large number of us, adore being cuddled and talked to. we like to hear that we are loved, and that the man in our life finds us attractive. many of us just like to be held close. after the biological act of "sex" we want even more cuddling (on average) and more talking. remember we gals are very verbal.

(shakes head) oh... anyways... where were we?

oh, yes.
i'll let you blokes in on a little "secret". "unwanted sexual attention" is when we find the man giving us that attention unattractive.
it's like "sexual harassment". in many cases if the guy is "cute" it's called "flirting". but if the guy is "unattractive". ....well then that's "sexual harassment". see how logical it all is? (rolls eyes)

also, don't forget. men are, on average, more direct about things. women, on average, are indirect about things.
much of the time "we" do it to keep you off balance. you're easier to control that way. (rolls eyes again).

example: how many times have you asked your wife, girlfriend, etc, "What's wrong?" and she replies: "Nothing" when obviously there IS something upsetting her?
or, the classic; "If you don't know, I'm not going to tell you!"? don't you just love it when we do that? (sarcasm) "we" manipulate you and use sex as a tool (or even a weapon).
...and we ladies can't understand why you chaps are getting fed up of us. and why so many men are boycotting marriage. ...gee. can't imagine. (sarcasm again)

OH! and then of course when that's all said and done, we blame "MEN" for all of it, even though we often have nobody to blame but ourselves.
okay... rant over!

(thanks for putting up with me, guys!) ❤

A man was riding his motorcycle along the coast of California when he witnessed a car wreck. A little girl was knocked from the car and dangling from a vine on a cliff overlooking the sea. The man, at great risk to himself, managed to save the little girl.

He went on his way but suddenly heard a big voice.

"This is God," the big voice said. "For saving this little girl, I will grant you anything you wish."

The man immediately said, "I want a bridge to Hawaii so I can my Harley to Waikiki Beach."

God objected, "Do you realize how difficult that will be? It will be expensive, require lots of engineers and who knows how many permits. Can't you ask for something easier?"

The man replied, "Okay, I want me and all other men to be able to understand women."

God replied, "How wide would you like that bridge?"
