Peterson vs. Harris

frank h writes "According to this article, Scott Peterson's double murder trial begins today. For me, there's no question: if he's guilty, he deserves his punishment. Put aside, for a moment, the notion that he's being tried for one kind of murder that women commit every day in this country. Consider, instead, the harsh treatment he'll receive at the hands of the media and compare that with the sympathetic way in which Clara Harris was treated during her murder trial. Ladies and gentlemen, I submit to you a true and clear demonstration of anti-male bias in the media."

No more "Ladies Night" in New Jersey

Steve Krakauer writes "Check out this story about New Jersey's court ruling banning Ladies Night promotions at bars and clubs after a man took a club to court claiming gender bias.

I guess equal rights means paying equal for drinks and cover also...

It makes sense."

Women's Right/Gynaeocracy is The Supreme Law

Judge: Bush Abortion Ban Unconstitutional

3 minutes ago Add U.S. National - AP to My Yahoo!

By DAVID KRAVETS, Associated Press Writer

SAN FRANCISCO - In a ruling with coast-to-coast effect, a federal judge declared the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act unconstitutional Tuesday, saying it infringes on a woman's right to choose.

U.S. District Judge Phyllis Hamilton's ruling came in one of three lawsuits challenging the legislation President Bush (news - web sites) signed last year.

She agreed with abortion rights activists that a woman's right to choose is paramount, and that it is therefore "irrelevant" whether a fetus suffers pain, as abortion foes contend. The

article quotes:

"a woman's right to choose is paramount, and that it is therefore "irrelevant" whether a fetus suffers pain"

Matriarchy or Gynaeocracy is the Supreme Law and death and suffering then become "irrelevant.""

The Empire Strikes Back

Hunchback writes "How does the femborg fight back when the true face of domestic violence is being exposed? It latches on to a handful of sensational, well publicized cases; one of its reps sponsors a bill to create an "advisory board"; eventually the "findings" of the board funnel even more public funds into selected feminist-controlled coffers. This article depicts the birth of a dark star. The campaign was executed quietly, announced publicly only when the result was a fait accompli. Notice the background of the bill's sponsor and the proposed make-up of the board. Letters to the editor might forestall this measure from becoming a national model. Letters to the editor should be no more than 70 words and submitted immediately."

Degrading Hardees Commercials

Josh N. writes "Recent Hardees® commercials depict men as too stupid to select a loaf of bread or open a cardboard tube of instant biscuits, while a narrator’s voice proclaims that “without Hardees®, some guys would starve…” Aren’t we all lucky that Hardees® is making sure that the men of America don’t die of starvation because they’re so stupid? Hardees® though, is not the only culprit. For example, another series of advertisements from Domino’s Pizza’s promoting their Philly Cheese Steak Pizzas show a group of men teasing a dog by summoning it with a bell (a parallel to Pavlov’s bell experiments) so that the dog comes in expectation of food, but instead is mocked as a “stupid dog.” A few seconds later, the doorbell rings, and all the men run to the door making panting dog sounds (another Pavlov draw, this time equating the men to dogs) and are greeted by a pizza delivery man who says “No drooling this time guys.” Thus the commercial first takes the time to establish the dog’s intelligence as “stupid”. It next makes the men behave like dogs, so an easy inference can be made by the viewer based on what they’ve established about dogs’ intelligence, that men are also stupid."

Can Gender Be Socially Constructed?

Ray writes "Can Gender be socially constructed as women's studies programs teach on our college campuses? Wendy McElroy writes about the life & death of Bruce Reimer, a boy whose botched circumcision led to medical science's failed attempt(s) to literally, physically, (and mentally) transform him into a girl, Death By Theory The gender controversy that raged around (and in) his life, rages to this day. School Debates Difference Between Gender & Sex Should children as young as elementary school be allowed to choose their "gender" as California law advocates? Letter From CA Dept. of Ed Have steps to protect the rights of homosexual children created a climate of “politically correct heterophobia,” that threatens the rights of heterosexual people not to be "harassed" by the gay, lesbian and transgendered agenda? In this whole debate, is the right to be a heterosexual male the one sexual construct that is being left totally out of the equation? The issue appears to confront a number of perspectives as wide ranging and intritcate as the topic of human sexuality itself. California law purports to be seeking an enlightened perspective. However, is the current California attempt to define human sexuality in an all encompassing benevolence, yet one more example of the “tyranny of tolerance” that has for decades worked so aggressively to belittle and humiliate all things associated with heterosexual maleness as unacceptable oppression of the “privileged patriarchy?”"

Mike's Hard Lemonade Ad

Bledso writes "Mike's Hard Lemonade has released a new commercial that condones violence against men. A man and a woman are sitting at the bar and another man walks up with a series of blatantly cheesy and juvenile pick-up lines in an attempt to impress the woman. He's clearly portrayed as a big jerk. The first and second attempts draw eye rolls. On the third attempt, the man that's with the woman attempts to tell the offender to leave, but is cut off at the pass when the woman head butts the pick-up artist, knocking him to the floor. Then, apparently, all is well again. The violence seemingly justified. As always, imagine if a man head butted a woman in an ad. The horror! The web site isn't exactly easy to navigate, but you need to get to the "Mike's Media Room" section to see the ad."

Honda Pilot ad: "My husband was raised by wolves"

mens_issues writes "Honda has an annoying ad for its Pilot SUV where a wife states
that "My husband was raised by wolves." The first time I saw this
was on Super Bowl Sunday (the day of the infamous Janet Jackson
incident at half-time). It showed the husband looking all
dishevelled while licking a plate like a dog, drinking straight from
the water cooler at work, and chasing a Frisbee (thrown by his son)
into a stream.
