"Miss Savannah" Acquitted of Murder

The verdict is in. It's open-season not just on unfaithful husbands but boyfriends/fiances, too. Sort of reminds me of what NOW and the like complain about happening in Middle Eastern countries, only in this case, it's the males in danger of getting killed by the females, and it's happening here in the West.

As always, she claims she was being abused.

Data may help to explain sex differences

ArtflDgr writes "the text of the article can be found here.

The article details that 'researchers have found that the sexes differ more than we thought, particularly when it comes to the genes on one crucial chromosome.'

'Taken together, the two papers may eventually explain some of the behavioural and biological differences between individual women, and perhaps, between women and men.'

Of men, women, and money

bandersnatch writes "From US News:

Do men earn more money than women in comparable jobs with comparable responsibility? Most people seem to think so. During one of the presidential debates, John Kerry complained that full-time working men made a dollar for every 76 cents paid to women for the same work. President Bush didn't challenge the statement, and reporters let it go by as well. "The average woman is cheated out of about $250,000 in wages over a lifetime," said an article in Ms. Magazine. The AFL-CIO estimates that working families lose $200 billion of income annually to the male-female wage gap. Oh, really? The Census Bureau did find that women earned 76 cents for every dollar paid to a male (now up to 80 cents on the dollar), but that was a raw number, not adjusted for comparable jobs and responsibility. A new book, Why Men Earn More by Warren Farrell, goes further, examining a broad array of wage statistics. His conclusion: When reasonable adjustments are made, women earn just as much as men, and sometimes more.

Good to see the MSM (mainstream media) finally providing opposing viewpoints to such blatantly obvious feminist lies."

Peterson Sentenced to Death

Scott Peterson was sentenced to death today (March 16, 2005) for the murder of his pregnant wife, or as MSN is wont to put it, "his wife and their unborn child". Now had she gone and had an abortion, that would not have been anything wrong as far as the law was concerned, and Scott Peterson would have had no say in the matter either, depsite his being respoinsible for supporting the child. As to if *she* had murdered *him*, well, I doubt very much she would have received a death sentence. Remember this woman?

Tell Us Your Story!

Trudy W Schuett writes "The DesertLight Journal is gathering material for a book to be published later this year on domestic violence. This book will focus on the currently underserved people affected – the male victims, female abusers, serial victims, and those addicted to violence.

We’d like to hear your story, and also to hear how you went about seeking help; if you did seek help, what happened if you did, and if you were able to find what you needed.

S.D. Supreme Court rules on prenuptial agreements

ArtflDgr writes "The whole article can be found here.

The supreme court in South Dakota ruled that a pre-nup can not limit alimony because it runs counter to state public policy.
However, the parts that deal with division of property can be enforced. IMHO this is just one more reason not to get married (out of the many out there). As I see it the whole thing is pushing towards a situation of either give up all your rights at the thresshold OR do not take the step at all. Bottom line is that one should not ever consider marriage anymore..."

RADAR Alert: Minnesota Men Killed by Wives Unlikely to Answer Health Survey

Francis Manthey of Hill City, Minnesota was shot and killed in the early morning hours of March 5, 2003. His wife, Ardelle Manthey, has now been indicted on charges of first degree murder.

But according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the killing never happened. In fact, the 30,000 Minnesota men who were assaulted by their wives and girlfriends in 2004 were just imagining things.

The Star Tribune just ran an article titled, “3% of Minnesota Women Report Attack by Their Partner.” The article reported the results of a Health Department survey of 2,000 women. The Health Department did not bother to survey men. The results of the Health Department survey can be found here.

Woman commits murder, arson, attempted murder of rescuing fireman

bandersnatch writes "From Firehouse.com:

A woman being carried out of a burning house put a gun to a firefighter's head and pulled the trigger repeatedly but was out of bullets following the shooting death of her boyfriend, police say. The woman, in her late 50s, was hospitalized for treatment of smoke inhalation Monday. Once she is released she will be jailed for investigation of first-degree murder and two counts of assault, officer Mark Fulghum said. Police and fire investigators said she apparently tried to set fire to the house in a suicide attempt after the shooting of her longtime boyfriend, 65.

Obviously, this woman was very ill and deserves absolutely no jail time for this domestic violence against her boyfriend. *turns off sarcasm*"

Desperate to be "housewives"

bandersnatch writes "From The Independent:

They are the generation of women who grew up expecting to have it all. No longer forced to choose between children and a career, they were set to embrace superwomanhood by doing both - while holding down a perfect relationship and keeping a spotless home in their spare time. But modern woman has taken a reality check. The average 29-year-old now hankers for a return to the lifestyle of a 1950s housewife. The daughters of the "Cosmo" generation of feminists want nothing more than a happy marriage and domestic bliss in the countryside, according to a survey. Research into the attitudes of 1,500 women with an average age of 29 found that 61 per cent believe "domestic goddess" role models who juggle top jobs with motherhood and jet-set social lives are "unhelpful" and "irritating". More than two-thirds agree that the man should be the main provider in a family, while 70 per cent do not want to work as hard as their mother's generation. On average, the women questioned want to "settle down" with their partner by 30 and have their first child a year later.

And of course, guys, we all know what this means -- they want to be housewives without any of the housework."

MSN Columnist: Wife cheating-- what did YOU do wrong?

Anonymous User writes "
Advice columnist gives sh*tty advice to men regarding how to deal with infidelity.

I have a hard time imagining her advising a woman "I am not blaming the victim here — fidelity is a choice — but there probably are things you can do to lessen the chance your [husband] will cheat again."... and then run on into a litany of potentially wifely obligations that she ought to entertain (doing dishes, shining his shoes).

Email the old hag at inquiries-at-drgailsaltz.com"
