False Accusers Ordered To Pay Legal Costs

Luek writes "Here is a bit of good news.

The women who falsely accused University of Colorado football players of raping them are ordered to pay the university's legal defense fees.

They will not of course serve any prison time for their crime of false rape allegations but this is a start."

N.O.W. 's VAWA Promo Admits Girl-on-Girl Violence

Roy writes "The National Organization for Women (NOW) is cranking up its propaganda engines in anticipation of the bill about to go to Congress to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). One of the proposed additions to VAWA is expanded funding for anti-violence education programs for minor-age children. A Press Release on NOW's web site emphasizes abuse young women experience from boys and men; however, it also mentions girl-on-girl violence and harassment, and even includes a story about a girl who was targeted by other girls."

The Cost of Weddings

Sure, divorce is expensive-- financially, emotionally, etc. But the actual wedding itself has gotten outrageously priced. Who do you imagine is doing most of the paying for it, too? I certainly can imagine!

Are video games only for men?

AngryMan writes "This BBC item asks "Are video games only for men?". The article is covering the launch of new game consoles by the three big manufacturers, but, bizarrely - though unsurprisingly - turns it into a 'gender issue'.
"...the Entertainment Software Association says makers have failed to come up with mass market products the helps (sic) encourage women to play "
WTF? If you want to play, play, if you don't, don't. If you have an idea for a new game you'd like to see, promote it. What is the problem? The article asks "What do you think? Are too many games aimed at young men?" The page provides a place to post your own comments."

Women in Combat

Anonymous User writes "Story here:

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Women in the military would be barred from serving in direct ground combat roles, under a House bill that sets Defense Department policy and spending plans for the upcoming budget year.

The House Armed Services Committee approved the overall measure early Thursday on a 61-1 vote. The same committee in the Senate passed a different version last week. The House and Senate are to vote on their respective bills next week."

Richard Hayden

Trudy W Schuett writes "The founder of the Abused Guys Yahoo Group and much-loved friend, Richard Hayden, has passed.

I will provide information on the memorial and other things in a few days, when I have them. There will be an in-person memorial service in Northern California in about three weeks. At the same time, I will set up an online service for those who are unable to attend the physical memorial.

For those of you who depend on the Yahoo group, please do not be concerned as I promised Richard some time ago that it would continue. It will. It is one of a very few resources for abused men anywhere, and so we will make sure men will continue to have a place to seek help and get support.

Love and light!

RADAR to VAWA: “This Time We’re Ready for You!”

The current Violence Against Women Act will expire on September 30, and the renewal legislation is expected any day now. It is expected that the new VAWA bill will propose to expand and enhance services – but only for female victims.

That represents gross discrimination against men.

But this time, RADAR is ready for the expected round of media coverage that will extol the proposed law and will perpetuate the myth that women never assault their male partners. This is our 8-step game plan...

RADAR Release: RADAR Reports Success in Media Coverage of DV

Five years ago, the Washington Post was one of the most ardent supporters for the renewal of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). News articles, columns, and editorials appeared on a regular and continuing basis, all designed to convince wavering lawmakers to vote “yes” for this $1 billion dollar-a-year pork.

Last year the Washington Post knew that VAWA would be coming up for renewal in 2005, so they ordered up more DV blood-and-guts stories. In December the Washington Post ran a three-part, high-octane series on Maternal Homicide.

Youngster Made Up Rape Story

Anonymous User writes "British newspaper The Guardian reports, Wednesday May 18, 2005, on a very young girl (aged under 10 years old) who fabricated an elaborate rape story.

What are young girls learning this behavior from? What are they being exposed to in the media, from their parents and in schools to make them behave this way?

The police investigation is estimated to have cost £120,000 (approx US$ 250,000). More money wasted in the pursuit of the misandric agenda."

Protesting the Abuse of Men by the Abuse Industry

Ray writes "The National Coalition of Free Men, Los Angeles and concerned citizens participated in a protest outside a "Domestic Violence Industry Gala" held in San Diego last weekend. We protested the Women's Industries' abuse of men. Ironically, while the "rich and famous" of the Domestic Violence Industry feasted on delicacies inside, an apparently abused, homeless man (with his kids in tow), approached the group. It seems the well dressed, well fed in that group would do nothing (no hotel voucher) to get a man experiencing domestic violence a room for he and his kids for the night. We took up a collection and got him a room. How appropriate that many of us wore T-shirts saying Shame on the Domestic Violence Movement for Lying. There were many things those well dressed, well fed "discriminators against men" should be ashamed of as our protest signs indicate."
