Jordan B. Peterson's bestseller pulled from New Zealand bookstore in response to massacre

Article here. Excerpt:

'Whitcoulls, a large New Zealand bookstore, has responded to the Christchurch massacre by banning the work of clinical psychologist Jordan B. Peterson.

The author of “12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos” literally has a chapter that covers the dark psychology of mass shooters — and how to create a world with fewer of them — but his words will no longer be found on store shelves.

Independent journalist Tim Pool shared an email by the company Thursday, which described a decision “made in light of some extremely disturbing material being circulated prior, during and after the Christchurch attacks.”

“As a business which takes our responsibilities to our communities very seriously, we believe it would be wrong to support the author at this time,” the email purportedly said.'

... always works. My goodness, ppl never learn. Even if this book instead made some kind of nutty case for mass murder, banning it wouldn't do squat. Mein Kampf is banned in Germany except for scholarly study by a limited class of person. Hasn't stopped neo-Nazis from springing up.

Likewise it's not banned in the US and neo-Nazis are quite few and far-between.

But don't let facts get in the way of banning books, esp. those that have nothing to do with the precipitating event.

Skinheads, white supremacists, and MRAs are all lumped together in the minds of many. Conform or else. Peterson doesn't conform, so he must be banned. Deviation from the norm is not accepted.

Looking at the general platform of the MRM, I fail to see how anyone could conflate it with the typical platform of your typical skinhead/white supremacist/etc. There is NOTHING in the MRA platform remotely addressing skin color or ethnicity except insofar as how it may affect the details in the way men may experience anti-male discrimination. There is absolutely nothing about race supremacy or anything like it in the MRA platform.

I suppose it just goes to show how much the actual MRA platform is simply ignored.
