Amy Schumer: Men’s Me Too Jokes Are ‘Belittling Victims’

Article here. Excerpt:

'Amy Schumer sent out a statement to men who joke about sexual assault and the changes brought on by the Me Too movement: “STOP.”

“Any dude saying ‘I’m scared to be in a room with a woman now’ or ‘is it ok to say hello? I don’t know the new rules,’ STOP,” the comedian wrote on Twitter Wednesday.

“What you are doing is belittling victims who have been wronged,” Schumer’s statement continued. “They say 1 in 6 women in our country are sexually assaulted. That’s based on who reports it. It’s been proven to be closer to 1 in 3. Your sisters/daughters. Stop making fun of the terror and indignity most of us have faced in our lives.”

“If you’re confused about the new rules,” she continued, “Just ask and don’t make it a joke. Because that’s harmful and we don’t want to hear that kind of joke right now. Mmmmmkay?”'

For contrast:

A  Timeline of Amy Schumer's Most Problematic Moments

'When Schumer’s jokes aren’t dangerously similar to other people’s jokes, they’re offensively racist. Here’s a list of some of the most egregious ones:

“Nothing works 100 percent of the time, except Mexicans.”

“I used to date Hispanic guys, but now I prefer consensual.”

“I think they would be mad if I brought home an Asian guy. Just out of confusion. They would just be like, ‘I don’t understand. Do you really want to fuck this guy?'”

Schumer denies that her jokes are truly racist and plays the comedian card, arguing that because race is ~taboo~ and she’s a ~taboo~ comedian, it’s fair game. “You can call it a ‘blind spot for racism’ or ‘lazy’ but you are wrong. It is a joke and it is funny. I know because people laugh at it,” she tweeted.'

... such comments aren't meant as jokes but are sincere questions?

Amy once pronounced herself "unfuckable" to explain why she stopped getting as many gigs. I rather think it was her comedy.

As to being fuckable... that's an individual choice.

That's why third wave feminists (gender haters) need all men to shut up. It's makes it hard to hear the monologue when any other opinions are getting in the way.
