Concern grows over performance pressure on girls while boys fall further behind

Article here. Girls who feel too much pressure to excel have my sympathy. I might say I feel the same for boys except the pressure they're under is to renounce their maleness and act like girls and women are the world's salvation. Whose situation is less desirable? Excerpt:

'It's a great time to be a girl -- or is it? Because behind all these possibilities is a troubling development: Girls' anxiety and depression are climbing and increasingly turning tragic.

Between 2007 and 2015, the suicide rate for girls between the ages of 15 and 19 doubled, reaching a 40-year high in 2015, according to new data from the National Center for Health Statistics.

"I think no one can dispute the wholesale kind of collapse of girls' wellness right now," said bestselling author Rachel Simmons, who has been working with and doing research on girls for the past two decades.

"It's really a crisis. I don't think I'm overstating it. Everywhere I go, I hear about levels of anxiety that are so crippling that it makes it hard for teachers to teach, and we can't not pay attention to this anymore."'

Fresh air and sunshine. I know... they can join the Boy Scouts (err, I mean, the Scouts BSA). We send them camping with a bunch of horny adolescent boys, at a M:F ratio of what, 10:3. It'll be the perfect solution. They'll be fine.

Pregnant like unspayed female cats in springtime, but at least their minds'll be off school and on more pressing and practical concerns, like whether or not to abort, give up the kid for adoption, or pursue modern teen single motherhood as an alternative form of empowerment.

The Boy Scout Handbook will need new sections on things like DNA testing to establish paternity and a chapter on "enthusiastic and ongoing affirmative consent rendered verbally yet even in the middle of a forest."

Anyone care to speculate on just when the first sexual harassment/sexual assault/sexual innuendo/sexual fill-in-the-blank allegations/lawsuit will be announced arising from the recent BSA decision to say fuck-it-all and go co-ed?

Don't you just love the way these so called academics and authors play the "girls" card.
It's OK to ignore everyone else and just care about people who are like themselves! Who cares whether this attitude is the basis of apartheid, racism, sexism, narcissism, cronyism and all the most ugly behaviours in our history. It's OK now, because it's the girls club.
Misandry is clearly taken for granted by this SJW. Gender hatred so culturally entrench that she cheers "go girls" while stepping on the ruined dreams of disengaged boys, smiling all the way, and seriously complaining that success isn't good enough for girls. We should all be responsible for making sure they can have happiness too. The way she shows no interest at all in the crisis in boys education really displays the moral vacuum that feminists like her call home.
But I guess that's modern feminism. Teaching girls to be selfish, narcissistic sociopaths who complain because they can't have it all and be happy to. Who'd have thor!
Sad it doesn't work out the way they want.
But hey. Maybe I'm being unfair to this talented woman. I'm sure she helps boys too. Most likely by femsplaining about masculinity and how toxic it is, and how it's not these poor boys fault. After all, they couldn't help being born male.
